SECTION KB-003M - INDEPENDENT ORGANIZATION & GOVERNMENT DISTINCTION
Home Ahead is an independent Canadian housing support corporation.
Home Ahead is not a government agency, government department, government ministry, municipality, Crown corporation, government-operated program, or governmental authority.
Unless expressly stated otherwise for a specific initiative, Home Ahead is not owned, operated, administered, controlled, supervised, endorsed, guaranteed, sponsored, or funded by any federal, provincial, territorial, regional, municipal, or governmental authority.
Home Ahead develops, operates, supports, administers, and manages its own programs, initiatives, educational resources, participant support activities, In-House Funding initiatives, In-House Grants, In-House Interest-Free Loans, In-House No-Interest Financing, and other approved support structures in accordance with its organizational objectives, program requirements, operational requirements, applicable laws, and internal policies.
The existence of housing-related programs, affordability initiatives, financial assistance opportunities, participant support activities, ownership initiatives, housing-preservation initiatives, educational resources, or In-House Funding initiatives should not be interpreted as meaning that Home Ahead is a government program or government-funded initiative.
At the same time, Home Ahead may educate participants about, assist participants in understanding, help participants navigate, coordinate with, communicate with, or facilitate access to programs, services, resources, professionals, organizations, institutions, opportunities, and support structures that may originate from public-sector, private-sector, community, charitable, non-profit, professional, institutional, or other sources.
Participants may therefore encounter both Home Ahead programs and non-Home Ahead programs during the course of their housing journey.
The existence of a relationship, referral, introduction, communication, coordination effort, educational discussion, or participant-support activity involving a third-party organization should not be interpreted as creating ownership, control, sponsorship, endorsement, funding responsibility, or operational responsibility between Home Ahead and that third party unless expressly stated otherwise.
The purpose of this framework is to clearly distinguish Home Ahead's independent organizational role while recognizing that participants may be introduced to, educated about, or assisted in navigating a wide range of housing-related resources and opportunities from various sources.
